Crypto Mining Contest Efficiency Update

See how SignalHash combined Mining Power, Max Energy, social bonuses and PvP effects in its original crypto mining contest efficiency formula.

Archived update published July 17, 2026. This page documents the former Mining Power formula; current contest mechanics use Mining Network and the live Contest Efficiency rules.

For the current system, read the Crypto Mining Contest Guide.

SignalHash introduced Contest Efficiency for weekly crypto mining contests. The formula adjusted hash mining performance using base efficiency, Mining Power, Max Energy progression, social activity, and temporary PvP effects.

How Contest Efficiency Worked

On July 17, 2026, SignalHash announced a dedicated Contest Efficiency calculation separate from Energy Restore. The update combined starting efficiency, Mining Power, league-based Max Energy progression, social activity, and temporary gameplay effects into one contest value.

Contest Efficiency measures competitive performance inside the weekly mining contest. Energy Restore remains a separate mechanic and is not part of the efficiency formula described in this announcement.

Base Contest Efficiency: Up to 25%

  • Every player starts with 5% Contest Efficiency.
  • Mining Power can add up to 20%.
  • Starting efficiency and Mining Power combine for a maximum base efficiency of 25%.

Max Energy Efficiency Bonus by League

Upgrading Max Energy can add up to another 75% Contest Efficiency in every league. Higher leagues do not increase the maximum bonus; they require more counted Max Energy levels to unlock the same 75% cap.

The per-level Silver and Gold percentages were presented as rounded display values. The total Max Energy contribution remains capped at 75%.

  • Bronze counts 5 Max Energy levels at 15% per level, reaching a 75% maximum bonus.
  • Silver counts 7 Max Energy levels at approximately 10.71% per level, reaching a 75% maximum bonus.
  • Gold counts 11 Max Energy levels at approximately 6.82% per level, reaching a 75% maximum bonus.

Standard Contest Efficiency Maximum: 100%

The standard maximum combines 25% base efficiency with the 75% Max Energy bonus. This produces 100% Contest Efficiency before social activity and temporary gameplay effects are applied.

  • Maximum base efficiency: 25%.
  • Maximum Max Energy bonus: 75%.
  • Standard maximum Contest Efficiency: 100%.

Social Bonus and the 106.5% Maximum

Social activities are added above the standard maximum. Completing Follow X added 3.25%, and Join Community added another 3.25%. Together they added a 6.5% social bonus.

With base efficiency, Max Energy, and both social activities complete, the announced maximum without temporary effects is 106.5% Contest Efficiency.

  • Follow X: +3.25%.
  • Join Community: +3.25%.
  • Total Social Bonus: +6.5%.

Temporary PvP Efficiency Effects

Active boosts, attacks, and defensive effects can still modify current Contest Efficiency after the standard and social calculations. The live value can therefore move above or below the normal maximum while an effect is active.

  • Amplifier and Starlink can modify active performance.
  • Meteorite and Meteorite Rain can apply offensive pressure.
  • Bunker and Shelter can change defensive outcomes.

EfficiencyPercent in the Contest API

The Contest API was updated to return EfficiencyPercent. This allows the SignalHash interface to display the player’s current total Contest Efficiency in real time, including the active modifiers reflected by the contest system.

Later Mining Network Bonus

A follow-up update on July 24 added a league-based Mining Network Bonus for the 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G Mining Network tiers. Bronze, Silver, and Gold use different progression curves while keeping the maximum Mining Network Bonus at 20%.
